Tropea welcomed me with open arms—and the unmistakable charm that makes Calabria such a special part of Italy. I was invited to stay four nights at Il Borghetto Resort & Spa, a tranquil five-star escape that captures the essence of quiet luxury. From the moment I arrived, everything felt curated for a deeper experience: the views, the warmth of the team, and the food—especially the breakfast. A refined morning ritual made with fresh local products, full of Calabrian flavors and hospitality.
The resort itself is nestled in the hills just above Tropea, offering peace while still being close to the vibrant heart of the town. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t need to prove anything—its beauty speaks for itself.
Beyond the resort, I spent my days exploring Tropea’s historic center, walking its narrow streets, and soaking in views that stretch endlessly over the Tyrrhenian Sea. The sunsets here feel like a cinematic reward at the end of every day.
A highlight of this trip was dining at Casa Romano, a seafood gem that mixes tradition with elegance. From fresh octopus to Calabrian-style pasta, every dish told a story. There’s something raw and honest about food here—no filters, just pure flavor.
This part of my Italy Tour felt different—more intimate, more rooted in tradition and the rhythm of daily life. Il Borghetto gave me the pause I needed, and Tropea reminded me why I keep coming back to Italy.
The videos below capture some of those moments—from golden-hour walks to plates that speak louder than words.
