Venice is a city that never stops inspiring me. Every time I return, it offers another small story, another corner, another table where something memorable happens. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of filming at Osteria Al Cantinon, a charming Venetian osteria run by Chef Serghei together with his wife.
Located in a quieter part of the city, the restaurant carries the kind of atmosphere that reminds you what dining in Italy is truly about. It feels warm, personal and authentic. The moment you step inside, you immediately understand that this is a place built on passion rather than trends.
The menu stays beautifully faithful to Italian and Venetian traditions. Simple, honest ingredients are treated with care and respect, allowing the flavours to speak for themselves. One of the dishes that stood out during my visit was a wonderful interpretation of a Venetian classic — risotto al nero di seppia. Chef Serghei presented it with a delicate touch, pairing the deep flavour of cuttlefish ink with creamy stracciatella and fresh gamberi crudi. The combination created a dish that was both elegant and unmistakably Venetian.
What made the experience even more special was the collaboration behind it. Moments like these remind me why I enjoy what I do so much. Meeting people who dedicate their lives to their craft, sharing stories and creating something together — that is where the real magic happens.
Filming in Venice always feels a little different. The city itself becomes part of the story. The canals, the quiet streets, and the timeless rhythm of everyday life create a backdrop that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
I left Osteria Al Cantinon grateful for the experience and for the people behind it. Encounters like this continue to shape my journey, and each visit reminds me how fortunate I am to keep discovering places that carry such authenticity.
And as always, the story continues. Thank you.
